Understanding Friction
Pupils in Scafell enjoyed a practical science lesson to develop their understanding of friction. They set up a fair experiment to see which surface would slow the car down quickest and discussed their findings with the class.

We have been celebrating the 20th Year of World Book Day.
We fancied a change from dressing up and so challenged the children to bring in a bag of items that would give clues to a famous book character instead. See us here, sharing our bags in family groups this morning.
We have also challenged everyone to bring in a photo of ‘extreme reading’ – reading in an unusual and wonderful place. Thank you to everyone – you have so entertained and impressed us with your creative ideas. They will, very soon, be on display in the library so do come and take a look! We’ve been having a poetry theme in classes and will be sharing our performance poetry with everyone in school.
