We have made some presentations about our trip to York in Microsoft Photostory. You can see them here.
Class 4 have been investigating song lyrics this term. We have shared our favourite songs, explaining why we like them. In addition, we have listened to a range of different songs and explored how they reflect the time and place they were created.
As part of this we learnt ‘Children of Africa’, a song originally sung by people of South Africa during the time of apartheid.
We explored singing it as a round then added African drum rhythms to accompany it.
Finally we worked in groups to compose our own verse in keeping with the original. This is a recording of our work.
Representatives from Class 4 watched the exciting finish of a stage of the Tour of Britain 2007 in Kendal. They had great fun taking part in their own cycling activities involving other local schools too. See the pictures here.
In partnership with Heron Corn Mill the whole school took part in workshops where we had great fun creating models from different foods and created songs, poems and stories to accompany them. Here are Class 4’s sea monster creations.
